Discovering the Amrock breed

Does the Amrock hen become a hen?
Hens Amrock are considered to be very good egg-layers and therefore, based on this characteristic, are not good hens. The aptitude for hatching and rearing young is in fact a genetic characteristic that is generally opposed to the aptitude to produce eggs. In practice, the more productive a hen is, the less she broods.
It must be remembered, however, that genetic characteristics must be maintained (selected) and if this does not happen they can also change. Several times, in fact, Livorno hens have been seen hatching even though they are considered the queens of egg laying.
However, it is possible to check whether any Amrock hens 'hide' their hatching behaviour. This can be done by leaving the eggs in the nest and collecting them only in the evening. If any hens hatch in the meantime, it is possible to isolate them and allow them to return to their original behaviour.
