How big should the laying nest be?

Egg-laying nests can be made in different ways.

Wicker baskets attached to the walls can be used, in which case the basket must be about 35-40 cm in diameter and about 25 cm deep.

Individual’ nests with front egg collection can also be purchased.

These generally have a base of 24-26 cm, a depth of about 50 cm and a height of about 44 cm.
