WHAT PREVENTIVE ACTIONS SHOULD I TAKE IN MY POULTRY HOUSE TO HAVE HEALTHY CHICKENS?
It is possible to successfully keep chickens and hens: all you need is adequate housing and a small pasture for the animals.
However, if you want to keep healthy birds, you need to know a few rules to get off on the right foot:
- choose hardy and slow-growing breeds, giving preference to animals bought locally;
- opt for a pasture-based farming system that encourages movement and stimulates resistance to disease;
- adopting an appropriate density of animals (both in shelters and on pasture), as overcrowding is almost always a cause of health problems;
- use high quality feed, with a good presence of locally produced raw materials. In this regard, we recommend that you take a look at our range of grinding mills.
In addition to the above, in order to be able to safely obtain meat and eggs for food consumption, it is important to ensure maximum hygiene for the animals, both in closed housing and in the pasture.
